Questions a seasoned traveller asks, answered without shorthand
These are the questions that arrive most weeks from guests who have travelled widely and booked rarely. Each is answered here in the same plain terms the booking thread uses.
It has been twenty years since I booked anything like this. Where do I start?
With one message giving where you are staying, the date and hour, the length, and either a name or a line about the evening. The answer names who is free, gives the figure and an arrival time. Nothing is fixed until you agree, and nothing needs to be understood in advance.
Do I need an account, an app or a password?
No. There is no account and nothing to install, and no card details are entered on a page. The booking is a written conversation, and the only details asked for are the ones the booking itself needs.
How soon can she arrive?
Forty to sixty minutes after the booking is confirmed, anywhere in central Amsterdam. Airport hotels at Schiphol take longer and are arranged separately, with the journey time agreed with you first.
Can I book before I leave home?
Yes, and many guests of this site do. A booking made more than twenty-four hours ahead carries half the fee in advance, and the rest is paid when she arrives. The date and hour then sit in the thread, agreed and written down.
Why does a first booking need a deposit, even for one hour?
Because a first booking holds an hour that cannot be offered to anyone else, and the house has no history with you yet. Half the fee goes ahead, whatever length you picked. On later same-day bookings of one or two hours at a city address, the whole fee is paid on arrival.
How is the deposit paid?
By card, or by Revolut, Wise or cryptocurrency if you use them. Bank transfer and PayPal are not accepted, and cash cannot be a deposit because it is only handed over in the room. The exact amount appears in the booking thread once the time is agreed.
Can I pay the balance in pounds or dollars?
Yes. The balance is paid when she arrives, and cash in another major currency is welcome for it. The exact sum in that currency is confirmed to you in writing before she sets out, so there is no arithmetic at the door.
What do the sessions cost?
For one guest with one therapist the fee grows with the length in even steps, and any hour beyond the third is charged at the same rate as the first. The overnight is its own block. The full table sits on each woman's profile, the same on every one of them.
Is anything added for evenings, weekends or holidays?
Nothing at all. A Sunday evening costs what a Tuesday afternoon costs, and nothing is charged for her journey anywhere in the centre. Peak dates such as King's Day carry a deposit, not a higher rate.
Does my age make any difference?
None to the rates or the steps. The only age that matters in a booking is twenty-one or over, and it applies to everybody. Guests of every age book here, and plenty of them are well past sixty.
Can I ask for a warmer room, a slower pace or a quiet start?
Yes. Put it in the booking thread. She arrives expecting to spend the first few minutes on the light, the heating and the pace, and she checks each of them with you again before anything begins.
May I name the therapist I would like?
Yes. Name her in your first message. The reply says whether she is free at that hour, and if she is not, it says who is. The choice stays with you.
My wife and I would like to book together. How does that work?
A couple can share one therapist, which costs twice the single rate, or have a therapist each, which costs four times it. Both of you must have agreed to the booking, and both must be twenty-one or over. Say which arrangement you want in the first message.
Our plans may change. Can I move the booking?
Yes, once and without charge, as long as the request comes more than a day before the start and the new date lies within the next fourteen days. The deposit moves with the booking. A second move, or one asked for inside the last day, is treated as a cancellation made at that moment.
What happens if I have to cancel?
Cancel with more than a full day to spare and the whole deposit is repaid. Inside the last day, before she has set out, half is kept and half returned. Once she is on her way, the deposit is kept, unless the hour is taken by somebody else, in which case it is repaid in full.
What if I booked without a deposit and then cannot make it?
If she has not yet set out, nothing is owed. If she is already on her way, you are asked only for the share of the fee her journey represents, and for nothing beyond it.
Is my name kept on file?
Only what the booking needs, in the booking thread. There are no accounts and no mailing lists. The privacy page explains what is held and how to ask for it to be removed.
Can she come to a hotel near the airport?
Yes, by arrangement. For airport hotels at Schiphol the journey time is agreed with you before anything else is fixed, and half the fee goes ahead. The rates themselves are the same as in the centre.
I booked ninety minutes for Friday evening from home, and now my flight lands a day late. What happens to the deposit?
On ninety minutes the deposit was half of the fee. If you write more than twenty-four hours before the booked start, you can move the booking once, free, to any date within fourteen days, and the deposit moves with it; or you can cancel and have every bit of it back. An airline moving a flight counts as a change on the guest side, so if you only write inside the final day, before she has set out, half of that deposit is kept and the other half is returned or carried forward. After she has set off towards you, none of it comes back unless another guest takes the hour.
This is my first booking with the house and I want two hours tonight. Do I pay anything before she comes?
Yes, half, because it is your first booking, and a first booking always carries a deposit whatever the hour. On two hours, the first half of the fee is sent by card, or by Revolut, Wise or cryptocurrency, once the hour is agreed in the thread. As the session is today, you also write in the thread that you want it carried out straight away. The second half is settled at her arrival, in euros or in another major currency if that exact sum was confirmed to you in writing first.
Halfway through a three hour booking I decided I had had enough. Is the rest refunded?
No. A session ended early, by either side and for whatever reason, stays payable for the time that was reserved, since those hours were held for you and cannot be offered to anyone else at that point. Nothing is added beyond the fee for the reserved time. If you realise before she sets out that two hours will be plenty, say so in the thread and the booking is rewritten as a two hour one, charged at the two hour rate.
Who sets the limits of a session: the house, me or her?
The therapist does, and nobody else. She tells you her limits at the start of the visit, in her own words, and they apply until she leaves. She may decline a booking before it is confirmed or after, without giving a reason, and she may end a visit whenever she chooses. If a limit she has named is pressed, the visit ends there: the fee for the reserved time remains due and nothing further is added. The terms set the same thing out formally.
I am plainly well over twenty-one. Will she still ask for identification?
She may, and it is nothing personal. Everyone who books, and everyone else present, must be twenty-one or over, and the same request is made of guests of every age so that nobody is singled out. A photo document is looked at once at the door and returned at once; it is not copied, photographed or noted down. If she cannot settle who is in the room, she leaves before the session begins.
