The vocabulary of a booking, without the shorthand
Short definitions of the terms that appear between a first message and a closed door, written the way the house actually applies them, for a reader who would rather not guess.
-
Outcall
Outcall: she makes the journey and you stay put. No premises to find; the visit happens in your hotel room or rented apartment in central Amsterdam.
-
Overnight
The overnight is eight hours with one therapist, taken as a single block from a start time you choose, priced as one fixed sum with half paid in advance.
-
Arrival window
The arrival window is forty to sixty minutes from the moment you confirm to her knock, anywhere in central Amsterdam. Schiphol is agreed separately.
-
Deposit
A deposit is half the fee, paid before she sets out. It is part of the price rather than an extra, and returns in full with over a day of notice.
-
Cancellation and refunds
What is kept on cancelling depends only on your notice: nothing with a day to spare, half the deposit inside the last day, all once she has set out.
-
False bookings
A false booking is one made in a name or from a number that is not yours, or as a joke. A missed appointment alone is an ordinary cancellation.
-
Twenty-one or over
Everyone involved must be twenty-one or over: each therapist, each guest and anyone else present. She may ask anyone, of any age, to show a photo document.
-
Balance at the door
The balance is what is left of the fee after the deposit, paid when she arrives, in euros or another major currency with the sum fixed in writing.
-
Booking thread
The booking thread is the written conversation in which a booking is asked for, answered and confirmed. Address, hour, figure and deposit all live there.
-
One free move
A booking may move to another date once, free, if you ask over twenty-four hours ahead for a date within fourteen days. The deposit moves with it.
-
Schiphol by arrangement
Hotels near Schiphol can be booked, but they sit outside the central arrival window. The journey time is agreed first, and half the fee goes ahead.
-
The slow start
The slow start is the first quarter hour of a visit, when she sits down and the two of you agree warmth, light, pace and pressure before anything begins.
-
Preparing the room
Preparing the room means turning the heating up an hour ahead, a lamp instead of the ceiling light, extra pillows and a clear chair by the door for her coat.
-
Her decision
The therapist decides which bookings she accepts and what a session includes, and she states her limits at the start. Those limits last until she leaves.
-
Profile rates
Profile rates are the fixed euro figures printed on every therapist profile, identical for each, with nothing added for evenings, weekends or travel.
