Cancellation and refunds, set out by the notice you give

A cancellation with this house is never a claim for damages. What may be kept is the share of the fee already earned at the moment your message arrives, and the only thing that sets that share is how much notice you give.

With a deposit

• More than twenty-four hours before the booked start: nothing is kept. The whole deposit comes back.
• Inside the final twenty-four hours, while she has not yet left: half the deposit is kept as fee already earned, and the other half is returned.
• Once she is on her way: the deposit stays with the house in full, as fee already earned.

Two things reduce even the last of these. If the hour you gave up is taken by another guest, the deposit is returned in full, since the time was not lost after all. And if you can show that the loss was smaller than the part kept, only that smaller amount is kept.

An example, step by step

Take ninety minutes for eight on a Friday evening, confirmed with half of its fee. Cancelled on Wednesday, the whole deposit comes back. Cancelled at noon on Friday, before she has left, the house keeps half of that deposit and refunds the rest. Cancelled at a quarter to eight, when she is already crossing the city, the house holds on to all of it, unless the hour finds another guest.

Without a deposit

A returning guest's same-day hour or two in the city carries no deposit. Cancelled before she has set out, nothing is owed. Cancelled once she is on her way, you owe the share of the fee that her journey represents, and nothing past that.

A session cut short

A session ended early, by either side and for any reason, stays payable for the time reserved, and nothing is added to it.

When the house cannot keep the booking

The choice then belongs to you: the deposit back in full, or credit for a later date. Refunds go back the way the deposit was paid. The full wording is in the booking terms.
